Wow im done... [May. 4th, 2005|07:03 am]
Leaving is harder than i thought it would be. I gues while i am relieved to be done, i dont want to be finished.

Last night sucked. I felt like shit for nearly all of it.

I still dont have a job for the summer.

I just hope I dont have to wake upat 5:30 every day like i did last summer.

So I Just got home from West Virginis University.  We drove 9 hours there and 11 hours back(?), and spent less than 12 hours there.

The TKE chapter down there is nuts. With 60-70 people, they essentially killed 6 kegs.  That is pretty amazing.

IT was a pretty amazing trip.

This may sound foolish, but I may go down to West Virginia saturday morning, and come back sunday afternoon, to visit a TKE chapter... They said that if we came they would buy 70 cases of beer. 70. I dont really want to go on this specific weekend, but it is a Once in a Lifetime opportunity, for serious.

Hmmm,
What to do, what to do.

I have three tests this week, so school work wise, it wouldnt be too bad, but should I?

Die C Term, Die!!!!!! [Mar. 3rd, 2005|11:02 am]
HEY DIFF EQ'S,
IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW, I FUCKED YOU IN THE ASS.
- MIKE

2 finals down.  1 to go. Then 2 days off.  Then a week of PURE SUGARLOAF.

There is still the possibility of 3 A's this term, but likely an A and 2 B's.  For being the shittiest term ever im glad that C term is about dead.

For those of you who do not go to WPI, We have 4 terms, A, B, C, & D, and C is the worst by far, it makes you want to die, or kill someone, or both.

Christmas? [Dec. 27th, 2004|01:18 am]
It certainly didnt feel like christmas this year.

This was the first Christmas without my Grandmother so we went down to my grandfathers house on christmas eve.  It was pretty fun. My parents went down early and cooked food, and me my brother pat and his girlfriend rachael went down slightly later.  M grandfather was in good spirits despite everything.  My aunt and her family decided that they couldnt spend the day with us, and went to NYC.  I have nothing good to say about them, so I wont say anything.  On the drive back, i slept and listened to the Allman Brothers.  Alex:  on the way down i woke up to Mountain Jam on Eat a Peach.  Thought you'd appreciate that.

Then later alex and i went to chill with marissy et al. and then i went to stephanies house.

Stephanies house + tons of her relatives = a nervous mike...

And then i went home and chilled with my parents.

Christmas morning we woke up to go to church, and found that there wasnt one at the time that we thought there would be, so we went home, exchanged gifts, and went out to west springfield and went to mass there where i experience the most efficient catholic mass in History.    Christmas Day mass.  the readings and sermon were completely done in 15 minutes.  15 minutes flat!!! to all you catholics out there, you know how crazy fast that is. And the entire service was done in 35 Minutes, and there was music.  I was just fucking astonished.

And then we went to my grandparents house.  it just seemed so empty.  To those of you who dont know, my uncle kevin is very sick with cancer, and he decided not to come to christmas this year.  My cousins were there, but it felt so empty.  It is really too bad i didnt get to see him, i get to see my cousins 1-3 times a year, and my uncle about the same but it doesnt look good.  His health is really deteriorating fast.   I just wasnt the same.

Christmas just felt so empty this year.  Like it lost a whole lot of meaning for me.
But other than its empty feeling, it was enjoyable.

Lets Set some things straight... [Nov. 5th, 2004|01:30 pm]
I have heard a lot of complaining recently about the election and the electoral college, and how they both suck. And how GW Bush is an asshole, and all this other stuff.  Perhaps it is all true, but the only topic I wish to discuss in this "blog" (if you will) is the necessity of the electoral college.

The Conception of the electoral college was not only to provide for speedier Election results in the early years of our nation, but also to protect against the "tyranny of the majority."     Let's think about it.  If the United States had popular elections, a lot of people would have a disproportionate say in who won.  For example, the state of Vermont has 3 electoral votes, the bare minimum, now lets pretend the state of vermont has only 10 citizens.  If they all voted for Michael Badnarik (the libertarian candidate for president) in a popular election, it really wouldnt matter, because states like texas, which in this example is 10,000,000 times bigger, would dominate electorally.     Therefore the electoral college gives all the citizens in all the states, especially the citizens of the district of columbia, fairer representation.  In a popular election vermont would have 10 votes out of 170,000,000., in the electoral college it has 3 out of 538.  That sounds a little fairer to me.

The electoral college makes every vote matter. The electoral college is necessary to prevent the "tyranny of the majority."  So if you want to bitch about the election fine, but dont complain about the electoral college, cause frankly, you are wrong.

Greetings from Hot'lanta [Oct. 17th, 2004|12:19 pm]
So this was quite possibly the longest week of my entire life...  But pretty damn good in the end.

Finals fucking sucked.  And don't dismiss this by saying "duh it's college"  cause you dont understand WPI until you have done it.  It is rediculous.

So I finished classes on thursday, and then friday afternoon i went to Boston & Harvard to visit Emily, and then I met up with Stina for dinner.

Then i went to see Gov't Mule at the Orpheum,  this is the second time i have seen them since February, it was a good show, not a ton of song i was real familiar with but a great show none the less.  And then Rachael, Pat's girlfriend, and his friend josh picked me up, and i stayed at her place, and she took me to the airport.

And my flight was slightly delayed, but I still made it here on time. And we chilled at Emory, and played some cricket, which is quite ill, and went to see Victor Wooten.  The show was amazing, he played for 3 hours and 20 minutes, it was sick.

And then we chilled in his dorm, it was ill.

so yup. this is where the players play.
